PROFILE

Rowena completed her pupillage at a leading Chancery set and joins Harcourt Chambers as a door tenant.
-
She graduated in 2002 with a First Class LLB (Hons) and went on to take the BCL at Merton College, Oxford, in 2003. She completed her Bar Vocational Course in 2007 being graded Outstanding.
-
She is a Lecturer in Law at the University of Buckingham where she teaches Land Law and Trusts and is also a part time Tutor of Trusts at New College, Oxford, for whom she has taught since 2003.

Rowena is a Shelford, Lord Denning and Hardwicke scholar and Buchanan Prize winner of Lincoln’s Inn. She was awarded the Clifford Chance Prize by Oxford University for her performance in Civil Procedure on the BCL. She was the recipient of the Barnet Bequest by Merton College, Oxford, for her BCL year and was awarded the Linnels Prize by Oxford Brookes University for best graduating law student in her year.

PRACTICE
-
Chancery law: issues relating to real property including rights of way (public and private), covenants and adverse possession. Also trusts, taxation, professional negligence, contentious probate and the administration of estates.

Rowena has a particular interest in the law relating to the registration of new greens under the Commons Act 2006 (previously the Commons Registration Act 1965) including public inquiries.
